Frequently Asked Questions

  • For our Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K classrooms, we use the Experience Curriculum. For our Infant and School Age classrooms, we use the Funnydaffer Curriculum. Both curriculums support the comprehensive development of children, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains, while also nurturing their creativity, curiosity, and love for learning.
  • We use the Brightwheel app, an easy-to-use, trustworthy method for parents, teachers, and administration to communicate. It also allows us to share pictures of your child throughout the day and keep you informed about your child’s well-being.
  • We redirect the behavior and use positive reinforcement to help the child work through the behavior. If a child’s behavior/circumstance is of concern, communication will begin with the family as the first step to understanding the child’s individual needs and challenges. We will work together to evaluate these needs in the context of our program. If two instances of behavioral issues resulting in communication to families happen in the same week, instances that require the student to be sent home early, or if the behavior is a recurring event, a meeting will be scheduled between the family and the Administration team. Administration may provide literature and resources to families regarding how to both understand and improve the behavior and may recommend evaluation by professional consultation.

Yes, we offer a sibling discount for families enrolling more than one child in our programs. Please contact us for specific details about the discount.

If a child shows signs of illness, we ask that they stay home to prevent the spread of germs. This can include, but is not limited to: fevers of 100 degrees, coughing that won’t stop, diarrhea or vomiting, rashes, head lice, or eye infections. If a child becomes ill during the day, we will contact parents to pick them up. Children must be fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

We observe major holidays and have a calendar of scheduled closures which is provided to parents at the beginning of the school year.

While snow days are inconvenient, we want to ensure everyone remains as safe as possible. While we will keep track of multiple factors when making our decision, we will additionally follow any closures, delays, or early dismissals that the Tamaqua School District puts out. Any decisions relating to altering center hours will be made the night before, or in uncertain conditions, no later than 5:00am the day of. We will send an announcement message on Brightwheel, as well as posting on WNEP and WFMZ. Even if conditions improve or if weather is not as severe as expected, we will be unable to reverse any decision in altering our hours. In the event that weather conditions worsen while we are open, we may need to have an early dismissal. In these instances, we will try to give families as much notice as possible. When the center is closed for weather, payment is still required. Payment will not be prorated for closures unless otherwise communicated by Administration.
