School Age

School Age Program

At Kids Corner, we know once your kids get into elementary school it can sometimes be difficult to juggle getting them to and from school due to work. With our Before and/or After School Age Program, we are here to make sure your child is taken care of and makes it safely to and from school. At our Summit Hill center, there is a Panther Valley Elementary school bus stop within a short walking distance. For our Tamaqua center, both Tamaqua Elementary and St. Jerome’s busses come right to the front door. Once the school year ends, both of our centers have part-time and full-time summer camp care available as well.

Homework Help

Homework can sometimes be hard, but at Kids Corner it doesn’t need to be. Our teachers are here to help our School Age students understand and finish their homework so they can focus on relaxing once they get home.

Holistic Development

Once we help the School Age students with their homework, we emphasize the holistic development of each child. Our activities and lessons are tailored to enhance various developmental domains, including language and communication, social and emotional growth, cognitive skills, and physical health. By fostering a well-rounded development, we prepare children for future academic success and personal growth.

Summer Camp

Our Summer Camp Program runs early June through the end of August. We aim to make summer fun, engaging, and filled with learning. For more information about what our Summer Camp Program looks like, please contact us.

Facilities, Health, and Safety

Safety and security are our top priority. Only individuals listed on the child’s paperwork and pick-up list are permitted to pick up the child. Unfamiliar individuals must present identification at the front desk before being allowed to pick up a child. When getting on or off the school bus, one of our teachers is always present to make sure the child safely makes it to the bus or to the center.

If a child sustains an injury, our trained staff will administer first aid promptly. An incident report will be completed and shared with parents upon pickup. In severe emergencies, 911 will be contacted, and parents will be notified immediately.

Snacks and Meals

We ask parents to provide a morning and afternoon snack for School Age children. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Label all containers with your child’s name.
  • Include an ice pack in lunchboxes for perishable items.
  • No glass items.

Personal Belongings

Each child has a personal cubby for their belongings. To prevent loss or theft, please avoid sending personal items like toys from home and please make sure all items are properly labeled with the child’s name.
